Latifa Lilly Sanhaji MD

UTHealth at Houston, Texas

Latifa Sanhaji, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UTHealth at Houston, Texas, McGovern Medical School since 2015, leading the Emergency Radiology services at a busy county hospital.

Her interest for Global Health and Medical Education led her to develop educational offerings to a low-middle income country, Morocco since 2016. This program has grown over the years and is flexible enough to be modified as requested by the shareholders to meet their needs.

As a leader of the Research and Publication on Health Equity for LADIR and as a member of the GME Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force, she thrives to involve her residents in the educational outreach and allows them to experience working and teaching in a different cultural environment, with low resources. They have expressed their gratitude for the experience and for their blessings, shared in a narrative reflection with other residents, elevating the spirit of all.  As their Chief Wellness Officer, she is pleased with the impact of this work on their sense of purpose and motivational rejuvenation.

She is the Associate Program Director and involved in the Clinical Competency Committee, the Radiology Residency Selection Committee, the Clinical Curriculum Committee, and she chairs the Program Evaluation Committee.

Dr. Sanhaji  supervises a longitudinal 4-year Clinical Educator Track for the residents and implemented an extracurricular program for medical students to familiarize themselves with the radiological sciences and the application to their fundamental courses.

Although she worked on numerous publications and presentations, among her many interests, education has a special place in her heart.
